Anna Karenina: Hands, Gesture, and Perfume






Joe Wright's Anna Karenina inspired a perfume character study. Odin, Diptyque, and Arquiste made the cut for Levin, Kitty, Anna, and Vronsky. Equally Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's choreography greatly captured my attention and imagination. His use of heightened and precisely articulated hand and gestural movement during the cathartic dance scene of the film created a passionate sequence, and a refreshing way to continue to understand the characters of the epic story.
